As a potent catalyst, Niax catalyst C-41 helps to enhance cross-linking properties, which means improved release and mechanical properties of foam products. It enhances the adhesion between the foam and the substrate and helps to reduce surface brittleness.

Although it typically performs well as a catalyst for polyurethane reactions and trimerization reactions, greater activity can be obtained when used with potassium-based catalysts to catalyze isocyanurate molding reactions. As a low odor, high activity catalyst, Niax catalyst C-41 typically requires only 1.5 pph ~ 2.5 pph as the primary gel catalyst in PUR formulations, and 0.3 ~ 1.0 php when combined with another catalyst in PIR formulations.
