When storing Catalyst, it should be stored at room temperature in a ventilated and dry warehouse, avoiding humid environment, and the storage temperature should be kept below 25℃, avoiding sunlight as much as possible, and away from water and heat sources. To prevent moisture absorption and oxidation, it is recommended to fill the container with nitrogen.

Shelf life

Under proper storage conditions, the shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture, after which the product can be used after retesting.

Safety Information

Catalyst  is somewhat toxic and should be rinsed with soapy water promptly after contact with skin. Staff can wear eye protection or safety glasses for the purpose of eye protection. Eye wash and drenching equipment should be provided near the workplace. When working in places where contact with the product is possible, attention should be paid to personal hygiene and the skin in contact with the product should be washed with washing products before eating, smoking and leaving the workplace.

Leak handling

Stop spills as much as possible while ensuring safety. If a minor spill is found, treat it with sand or other absorbent material and place it in a clean, dry container for subsequent disposal. If a large spill occurs, the spilled material should be collected for subsequent disposal. Avoid entering groundwater or surface water as the material is not readily biodegradable. All collected spilled material should be disposed of in accordance with local environmental regulations.

Niax SA-800 Tertiary Amine Catalyst Momentive

Overview:

Niax catalyst SA-800 tertiary amine based catalyst for conventional PU foam production, a balanced starting and gelation catalyst which can be used in all types of machine foams, continuous and discontinuous, and also in many types of polyols;

Product Description

Amine catalyst SA-800 is a complex type of liquid catalyst for tertiary amines. This highly active tertiary amine catalyst promotes the reaction between iso- and polyol, cross-linking the foam. And give good mechanical properties to flexible polyurethane foam.

Features and Advantages

– Catalyst SA-800 plays a catalytic and stabilizing role in the production process of PU flexible foam. It maintains the final height of the foam and prevents the foam from falling back a lot without losing the degree of openness of the foam.

– The catalyst SA-800 is especially recommended for the production of low and medium density foams (6 kg/m3-25 kg/m3), which can keep the foam from cracking and increase its hardness.

-Niax catalyst SA-800uf can increase the hardness of foam by 5-10% compared with normal amine catalyst. Its excellent catalytic and hardness increasing properties are more obvious in high water formulations and disappear slowly in low water (3.0% water content) formulations.

-Catalyst SA-800 can significantly reduce the cracking during foam production and works well in MC formulations with or without calcium carbonate and trimellitate fillers.

– Another unique advantage of catalyst SA-800 is that it helps to cure the foam. It makes short machines easier to produce and reduces paper adhesion during the machine foaming process.

– Catalyst SA-800 is a catalyst that balances initiation and gelation. It can be used in all types of machine foams, continuous and discontinuous, and in many types of polyols.

-Catalyst SA-800 has a low odor compared to similar compounded tertiary amine catalysts.

The recommended dosage of SA-800 is 0.15-0.20 php.

Comparison of catalyst SA-800 with A-33. A-33 is 33% triethylenediamine dissolved in propylene glycol. It is the most classic PU soft foam amine catalyst. In a formulation with 5-8 parts of water per 100 parts of polyol, catalyst SA-800 produces 5-10% more foam strength than A-33.
