Synthesis of bis[2-(N,N-dimethylamino)ethyl] ether

A process is disclosed which comprises reacting tri methylamine with 2-[2-(N,N-dimethylamino)ethox y]ethanol in the presence of nickel catalyst to produce bis[2-( N,N-dimethylamino)ethyl] ether.
