Synthesis method
Scopolamine is extracted from Amaranthus japonica as raw material. China’s traditional Chinese medicine anesthetic preparation, Yangjinhua, originated from the Mafei Powder of Huatuo, a famous doctor in the 2nd century AD. Its active ingredient is scopolamine. Use the goldenrod powder with 50℃Ethanol was percolated until the exudate was almost free of alkaloids. The leachate is distilled under reduced pressure to recover ethanol. The obtained extract is extracted with sulfuric acid. The extract is adjusted to pH9-10 by adding sodium carbonate, and extracted with chloroform. The extract is distilled to recover the chloroform to obtain total biomass. alkali, and then separate and form a salt to obtain this product. The total yield is 0.15%.
Purpose
Anticholinergics. Scopolamine is an alkaloid with the strongest pharmacological effect in scopolamine. It can be used to block parasympathetic nerves and can also be used as a central nervous system preparation. It acts like belladonna, but is stronger and shorter-lived. It can be used for anesthesia, analgesia, cough and asthma, and is effective for motion sickness. It can also be used to control stiffness and tremor in Parkinson’s disease.
