Sex and stability
1. Properties: Colorless liquid with an alcoholic smell. It is stable in nature and does not decompose during distillation. Miscible with water and many organic solvents. The chemical properties are similar to those of general alcohols, and the corresponding aldehydes and acids can be obtained after oxidation. Reacts with alkali metals or alkaline earth metals to form alkoxides, thereby producing ethers
2. It is highly toxic, mice were injected intraperitoneally with LD5060mg /kg. Production equipment should be sealed and operated under negative pressure. The workshop should have good ventilation. Operators should wear protective equipment.
Storage method
The product should be packed in brown glass bottles and packed in wooden boxes.
Synthesis method
Add 96.6g (1.2mol) of 2-chloroethanol dropwise into a mixture of 94ml of ethylene glycol and 105g (1.8mol) of anhydrous potassium fluoride, and react at 180°C for 2 hours to obtain 32.34g of 2-fluoroethanol. The yield is 42.1%.
Purpose
Intermediates of the antibacterial drug fleroxacin. 2-Fluoroethanol and its derivatives are used to poison rodents, and its derivatives can be used as herbicides and poison some plant pests.
