Cool, add distilled water to dissolve the inorganic salt, separate the organic phase, and dry over anhydrous potassium carbonate. Distill under reduced pressure and collect142-145℃(1.2kPa) fraction to obtain benzylmalonate diethyl ester. Yield82%.
